“Screwtape: Interviews with a Demon” Brings       C.S. Lewis’ Classic to Life in Bold New Miniseries

-Premiering July 2 at 8 PM ET – A Four-Part Weekly Event

Prepare to be both intrigued and inspired as Screwtape: Interviews With a Demon brings the timeless wit and spiritual insight of C.S. Lewis’ The Screwtape Letters to life in a bold and thought-provoking new miniseries. This four-part production was created through a collaboration between Divine Will Era Ministries, actors, and filmmakers and promises to captivate audiences with a fresh visual and narrative approach to one of Christian literature’s most enduring works.

Premiering Wednesday, July 2 at 8 PM ET, with new episodes dropping every Wednesday at 8 PM ET, the series reimagines Lewis’s fictional correspondence between a senior demon and his apprentice as a modern-day podcast interview show—unfolding with gripping performances and deep theological reflection.

A Unique Concept, A Talented Cast

At the heart of the series is actor James Steel, who delivers a powerful and nuanced performance as Screwtape, the cunning demon tasked with guiding a junior tempter. Steel's portrayal captures Screwtape’s sardonic wit and darkly persuasive charm with haunting authenticity.

Opposite Steel is Dr. Michael James, who not only spearheads the project but also stars as a fictional religious podcaster. In this role, Dr. James acts as a surrogate for the viewer—posing questions and struggling to grasp the spiritual warfare unfolding before him. His inquisitive, grounded presence offers a compelling counterbalance to Screwtape’s unsettling wisdom.

Adding depth and gravitas to the series is Charles P. Fire as Fr. Kevin McCorry, a seasoned priest who is skeptical of supernatural phenomena with a no-nonsense demeanor. Fire, known for his strong theatrical background, brings a commanding presence to the role, challenging Screwtape with sharp intellect and spiritual authority.

Rounding out the cast is a dynamic ensemble of supporting actors who bring to life various characters, temptations, and moral dilemmas in episodes that weave together drama, satire, and spiritual truth.

A Fresh Take on a Classic

While firmly rooted in Lewis’s original text, Screwtape: Interviews with a Demon innovates by setting its dialogue-driven drama in a contemporary media format. Each episode unfolds like a podcast taping gone awry—where theological discourse becomes a battleground between good and evil.

Dr. James and the production team have carefully balanced reverence for the source material with cinematic creativity, resulting in a series that is intellectually engaging, visually striking, and spiritually resonant.

Don’t Miss the Premiere
